At SEED, we make and restore landscapes that invite people to find their place in nature. When people feel connected to their environment, they’re more compelled to care. As a hands-on, interdisciplinary team, we’re interested in the spaces where beautiful meets useful, where cultivated crosses over into wild, and where the transient becomes enduring. The in-between is where possibility grows.

Landscapes shape our lives

As humans, we all need to find our place. Being part of a landscape – identifying with it, enjoying it, caring for it – can have a powerful impact on our individual and collective wellbeing. Our work is shaped by the knowledge that interacting with nature can offer us purpose and peace of mind. Embracing landscapes as catalysts for community, we actively engage people in our process and inspire them to nurture their own relationship with place.

Architecture and landscape are two sides of the same story

Our work aims to bring architecture and landscape closer together, with each element framing and feeding the other. Never just for show, our landscape designs reflect the rhythms and routines of people’s daily lives, as well as preserving pockets of wildness and spontaneity. Where the edges blur, something exciting happens. With every project, our goal is to add meaningful value for our clients and the landscapes they inhabit.

Every landscape is unique

A ‘sense of place’ can sometimes feel abstract and difficult to grasp, yet we all know it when we encounter it. We seek to reveal the innate character of each place we engage with, the genius loci, balancing the human and ecological benefits to create a place that is entirely itself. Uncovering the historical layers that have formed the current landscape enables us to restore lost habitats and make room for new experiences. What we leave alone is just as important as what we add.
